Adjectives describe nouns. In English they go before the noun:
- a tall man / a beautiful house / a red car
They can also come after the verb "to be":
- The house is beautiful. / She is tall. / The car is red.
Categories of adjectives

When you use more than one adjective, they follow this order:
Opinion → Size → Age → Shape → Color → Origin → Material → Purpose

Position of adjectives
Attributive (before the noun):
- "She has long hair."
- "He lives in a big house."
Predicative (after the verb to be/seem/look/feel):

Intensifiers with adjectives
You can make the adjectives stronger or softer:
- very + adjective: very big, very beautiful
- really + adjective: really nice, really tall
- quite / pretty + adjective: quite good, pretty fast
- extremely / incredibly + adjective: extremely hot, incredibly smart
